About The Position

The Plant Company (TPC) is looking for an analytical, hands-on leader to manage our Inventory Replenishment Analysts and improve how we plan and order inventory for The Home Depot. You’ll work directly with large amounts of store- and SKU-level data, identify opportunities and problems, and lead the team responsible for writing replenishment orders. Under our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Pay-by-Scan (PBS) programs, TPC carries the inventory risk. Your team’s decisions about what to order, how much, and when directly affect sales, waste, and profitability.

Requirements

  • Strong VMI experience and understanding of PBS inventory risk, with direct responsibility for store- and SKU-level replenishment decisions.
  • Ability to independently analyze large retail data sets and improve ordering across a complex product assortment.
  • Strong financial judgment, forecasting, and scenario-planning skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, inventory management, or demand-planning systems.
  • Ability to account for seasonality, shelf life, and changing demand when managing live or perishable inventory.
  • Effective team leadership, clear communication, and confidence to challenge assumptions using data.
  • Five or more years of experience in inventory management, replenishment, demand planning, supply chain, or production planning.
  • Experience leading or developing analysts or inventory planning professionals, with demonstrated improvements in sell-through, inventory performance, or profitability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience analyzing Home Depot data and writing orders for Home Depot or another major retailer.
  • Experience in horticulture or perishable goods, including production schedules and distribution logistics.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools and lean inventory practices.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Home Depot sales and inventory data and lead accurate, timely replenishment orders by store and SKU.
  • Coach and develop analysts, set priorities, review ordering decisions, and work alongside the team to solve complex problems.
  • Maintain a rolling 3–4-week forecast, continually comparing production and product availability with customer demand.
  • Build base-, best-, and worst-case plans for promotions, seasonal programs, and special events.
  • Connect Home Depot Sales, Operations, and Transportation to align orders, availability, and deliveries.
  • Use data to challenge requests that could hurt inventory performance or profitability.
  • Identify missed sales opportunities, excess inventory, and supply gaps; recommend solutions and follow through.
  • Improve reporting, ERP data accuracy, ordering methods, and team processes.

Benefits

  • The role includes time in greenhouse conditions with varying temperatures and humidity, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
