About The Position

This role serves as the enterprise functional owner for Material Master governance within SAP S/4HANA, with responsibilities spanning the entire lifecycle of Material Master records. The position involves establishing and maintaining enterprise standards, procedures, and policies for Material Master data, ensuring data integrity, and preventing duplicates. Additionally, the role encompasses inventory planning and management, including monitoring levels, analyzing trends, optimizing stocking strategies, and managing planning parameters. Material Requirements Planning (MRP) execution, monitoring, and analysis are key functions, as is supporting inventory accuracy through cycle count programs and discrepancy investigations. The role also provides support for warehouse operations, MRO procurement, raw materials procurement, production, engineering, and maintenance. Furthermore, it involves SAP system administration for Material Master and inventory management processes, including participation in system enhancements and upgrades. Finally, the position is responsible for developing and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory and Material Master data, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory management and governance processes.

Requirements

  • Enterprise functional owner for Material Master governance within SAP S/4HANA.
  • Create, extend, maintain, block, archive, and retire Material Master records.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise Material Master standards, procedures, naming conventions, and governance policies.
  • Review Material Master requests for compliance with Company standards.
  • Prevent duplicate material creation and maintain data integrity.
  • Maintain material groups, units of measure, valuation classes, purchasing views, MRP views, warehouse views, accounting views, quality views, and other applicable SAP data.
  • Perform routine audits of Material Master records and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support engineering changes, new product introductions, and product lifecycle management activities affecting Material Master data.
  • Coordinate Material Master governance activities across all business functions.
  • Monitor inventory levels for direct and indirect materials.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend stocking strategies.
  • Maintain planning parameters including reorder points, safety stock, lot sizing, lead times, and planning strategies.
  • Optimize inventory investment while maintaining operational readiness.
  • Analyze inventory turnover, carrying costs, and material availability.
  • Develop recommendations to reduce obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Execute, monitor, and analyze Material Requirements Planning (MRP) recommendations.
  • Review MRP exception messages and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Maintain MRP master data and planning parameters.
  • Coordinate planning activities with Raw Materials Procurement, MRO Procurement, Production Planning, and Warehouse Operations.
  • Analyze material shortages and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes.
  • Support inventory accuracy across all warehouse and storage locations.
  • Coordinate cycle count programs and annual physical inventories.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and perform root cause analysis.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor inventory adjustments and transaction accuracy.
  • Support compliance with Company policies, SOX requirements, and internal and external audits.
  • Support warehouse inventory transactions and inventory movement processes.
  • Maintain warehouse storage location master data.
  • Coordinate repairable inventory processes.
  • Support receiving, issuing, transfers, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Develop inventory control procedures supporting warehouse operations.
  • Partner with the Warehouse Supervisor to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain Material Master records supporting MRO inventory.
  • Support spare parts inventory planning.
  • Maintain repairable inventory records.
  • Support storeroom optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate catalog standardization and inventory rationalization activities.
  • Support Material Master creation and maintenance for direct production materials.
  • Maintain procurement-related master data for steel coils, strip steel, couplings, protectors, tubing, packaging materials, and other production materials.
  • Support planning parameters associated with production materials.
  • Coordinate Material Master activities supporting new suppliers and new production materials.
  • Coordinate Material Master activities supporting engineering changes.
  • Support Bills of Material (BOM) coordination as applicable.
  • Maintain planning parameters supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Support new product introduction activities.
  • Assist with material substitutions and engineering revisions.
  • Serve as the functional business owner for Material Master governance.
  • Participate in SAP S/4HANA enhancements, testing, validation, and upgrades affecting Material Master and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain business procedures supporting SAP inventory and Material Master processes.
