About The Position

The Inventory Manager is responsible for keeping the vehicle lot accurate, organized, and ready, supporting the sales team, the service department, and the guest experience. This role is crucial for maintaining the brand standard of Lexus of Fremont, a high-volume luxury store that depends on a tight, accurate inventory operation to keep the sales team selling and the guests happy. It is a foundational role where the right person can build real expertise and a long-term career in automotive operations.

Requirements

  • Previous dealership inventory, lot operations, or automotive operations experience -- required
  • Strong understanding of DMS inventory systems -- Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK experience preferred
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized -- inventory accuracy is non-negotiable in this role
  • Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces simultaneously without losing precision
  • Clear communicator who works effectively with sales, service, finance, and management teams
  • Physically capable of working on your feet and moving vehicles throughout the shift
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record -- required
  • Reliable and self-directed -- you take ownership of the lot without needing constant oversight

Responsibilities

  • Manage all vehicle inventory on the lot -- tracking location, status, and availability of new, used, and loaner vehicles with accuracy and discipline
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records in the DMS -- ensuring all inventory is properly logged, titled, and reconciled
  • Coordinate vehicle receiving -- inspecting incoming inventory for damage, verifying VINs and documentation, and processing vehicles into the system accurately
  • Stage and organize the lot -- maintaining a clean, professional, and logical vehicle layout that supports the sales team and reflects the Lexus brand standard
  • Coordinate with sales, service, and finance to track vehicle movement -- ensuring accurate status updates as vehicles move through the reconditioning, sales, and delivery process
  • Monitor and report on inventory aging, turn, and discrepancies -- flagging issues proactively to management
  • Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and auction partners on vehicle acquisitions, transfers, and disposals
  • Support title and DMV processing as needed -- ensuring all paperwork is complete and compliant
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and well-presented lot environment at all times
