About The Position

Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. This role involves unpacking and checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of received goods, and rejecting unsatisfactory items. The position requires the ability to handle items up to 45 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and material handling aids, and potentially operating a forklift after internal certification. Responsibilities also include preparing and maintaining records of merchandise shipped, examining, stocking, and distributing materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines, and maintaining knowledge of safe material handling practices and compliance with company Environment Health and Safety policies. The role will also involve working with DOD property tracking programs and requires a high degree of accuracy. An essential function is the ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to handle items (up to 45 lbs.) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aids (e.g. pallet jacks, height adjustable carts, etc.).
  • Ability to operate a forklift upon receipt of internal certification.
  • Knowledge of safe material handling practices.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policy/procedure in regards to material handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a warehouse and/or production environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Forklift Experience.
  • Familiar with MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience with MRP and Agile/PDM software tools.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Experience with DOD property accountability.
