About The Position

Suterra is seeking a dynamic and creative Inventory Management Specialist to support its rapidly growing supply chain and logistics activities. This role is crucial for boosting order fulfillment performance through efficient material supply and enhanced coordination with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders. The specialist will provide the necessary insight, organization, and analysis to support production and purchasing plans that meet business needs. The position requires strong coordination skills between vendors and internal teams, high proficiency with data, attention to detail, and excellent cross-functional communication. Requirements

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality control, procurement, logistics, supply chain management, or related fields.
  • An interest in becoming a subject matter expert in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems while mitigating risks to resources and deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork at multiple levels and across multiple functions of the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Creating, approving, and placing purchase orders for inventoried and non-inventoried goods.
  • Managing open purchase orders to coordinate delivery dates and optimize deliveries for the production schedule.
  • Recording vendor confirmations, maintaining purchase orders in ERP with the latest details, and communicating updates internally.
  • Managing and maintaining vendor information within the ERP system.
  • Serving as the primary contact for vendors regarding order-related inquiries.
  • Collaborating with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensuring the availability of non-inventoried and consumable supplies for production use.
  • Ensuring the availability of spare parts and supplies for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Reporting daily production results using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Providing instructions and ad hoc documentation for issue management, including inspection records, unique placards, and process descriptions.
  • Using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software platform to reconcile physical inventory with electronic records for financial reconciliation, including receiving, posting production results, and completing movement/transfer journals.
  • Ensuring the correct receipt of inventoried materials and consumable supplies.
  • Allocating and tracking raw materials to ensure FEFO, environmental compliance, and quality traceability.
  • Defining and managing the inventory control program, including labeling, placards, and cycle counts.
  • Partnering with Quality, Production, and Engineering to identify root causes of raw material quality issues and implement solutions.
  • Generating and assessing proposals for supply chain improvements, including changes in suppliers, buying patterns, space allocation, and inventory management.
