About The Position

Sandvik Mining & Rock, a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, has an opening for an Inventory Lead on our 1st shift, starting at 5:30 AM. The Inventory Lead is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by ensuring that inventory entries and adjustments are reflected accurately in the warehouse management system. This role involves directing team members, resolving inventory issues, and ensuring operational reporting is completed accurately. The position also drives and partners with cross-functional teams to develop and implement approved changes, monitors and directs the work of others, and communicates work practices, procedures, and methods to associates. Additionally, the Inventory Lead leads small task teams in the warehouse to achieve daily outcomes, which includes allocating responsibilities, providing backup support, offering on-the-job coaching and guidance, and answering technical queries.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years warehousing and inventory experience.
  • Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management system (preferably Blue Yonder or SAP) or plant systems, processes and procedures.
  • Strong Excel and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with associates/customers.
  • Ability to work specific shift
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts’, practices and procedures
  • Read, understand and follow directions/instructions/work procedures/safety rules
  • Operate various office equipment as needed
  • Perform simple math calculations
  • Operate basic document and spreadsheet software.
  • High School or equivalent experience.
  • English Proficiency: Intermediate (CEFR B1/ Completed EF level 6)

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education/training in business or supply chain discipline would be of advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate and assist in physical inventory, including auditing and monitoring cycle counts
  • Maintain accurate records of all audits, counts, and adjustments.
  • Confirm completion of cycle count activity daily
  • Trouble shoot and analyze inventory issues/discrepancies and process accurate inventory adjustments to match physical inventory movement and analyze results of counts to initiate permanent corrective actions
  • Ensure that all operational reporting is completed and made available via applicable Sandvik systems. This includes but is not limited to LPS, unconfirmed and nil picks reporting.
  • Drives and partners with cross-functional teams to develop and implement approved changes
  • Monitors and directs the work of others
  • Makes decisions and communicates work practices, procedures, and methods to associates as required
