About The Position

A Wider Circle is seeking passionate and reliable individuals for an Inventory Coordinator role. This hands-on position involves receiving furniture and household goods donations, ensuring they reach individuals and families in need. The role supports the in-kind donations program by unloading donations from vehicles and trucks, assessing item quality, maintaining warehouse organization, and ensuring a positive experience for donors and clients. The position also includes picking up donations via truck routes and delivering furniture. Availability to work Saturdays is required.

Requirements

• One year of work or volunteer experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Physical strength to lift furniture items and transport them with hand trucks.
• Ability to work carefully while moving furniture in confined spaces (trucks, stairways, donor's homes).
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Comprehension of safety policies and procedures.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Availability to work on Saturdays is required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in direct service or customer service settings.
• Experience working with individuals and families living in poverty.
• Experience working in the transport, moving, or hauling industry.
• Ability to become a driver if operational needs of the team change.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations at the Center for Community Service, unload vehicles, and interact with donors, recording demographic information.
• Sort and organize donations in the warehouse, assessing their quality.
• Assist truck drivers as a "co-pilot," aiding with navigation and backing up trucks.
• Safely and efficiently remove donations from donors' homes for transport to the center.
• Load furniture items into client vehicles with care.
• Work in different climate conditions.
• Direct donor and client vehicles in the parking lot for smooth traffic flow.
