About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory management, material handling or warehouse operations with at least 1 year in a coordination, lead or team-support capacity
  • Proficient use of ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle or equivalent) for inventory transactions, purchasing and reporting
  • Experience with barcode scanning, warehouse management systems and handheld devices
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts) and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of chemical storage, segregation, compatibility and safety documentation requirements
  • Understanding of FIFO, FEFO, lot tracking, expiration management and cycle counting
  • Demonstrated ability to generate operational reports and track KPIs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication skills

  • Previous experience in a GMP-regulated facility strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily inventory and material management activities to support laboratory and production operations.
  • Assign and prioritize work, monitor progress, and help resolve operational issues to ensure service levels are met.
  • Manage inventory levels, replenishment activities, and purchase requests to maintain uninterrupted supply of materials.
  • Partner with suppliers to track orders, expedite deliveries, and address material shortages.
  • Oversee storage, handling, and rotation of chemicals and materials in compliance with safety and quality requirements.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and variance investigations.
  • Collect, maintain, and report operational data, inventory metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding inventory and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, GMP, and site-specific requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and cross-training team members to support operational excellence.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide updates on inventory status, service levels, and operational issues.
  • Perform inventory-related tasks and other duties as assigned.
