About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join their team of medical professionals in Safford, AZ. This role involves managing all aspects of healthcare for incarcerated individuals in the Arizona Department of Corrections - Safford. Full-time and part-time positions may be available. As a Correctional Pharmacy Technician, you will assist licensed pharmacists in providing medications and other healthcare products to residents, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Requirements

Current Pharmacy Technician certificate/license in State
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
General knowledge of brand to generic pharmaceutical equivalents
Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to patient safety
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is preferred
Progressive administrative/management training in a pharmacy role with purchasing knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

Preparing and dispensing prescription medications to inmates, often requiring careful attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols.
Managing medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications, ensuring proper storage conditions and security.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of medication dispensed, patient information, and inventory levels.
Communicating with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding medication orders, patient needs, and potential issues.
Adhering to strict security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to medications and maintain a secure environment.
Providing basic medication information and instructions to patients, ensuring they understand how to take their medications properly.
Participating in quality assurance activities to ensure accurate medication dispensing and adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures.
