The Inventory Controller applies the knowledge of systems, techniques and underlying fundamentals of inventory management for determining, regulating, or controlling the level and flow of supplies and equipment materials from acquisition to storage, issue and utilization. Daily maintenance of inventory par levels, assists with computer entry of the inventory data, and assists with the ordering of supplies, equipment and instrumentation. Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs in conjunction with Materials or Biomedical Engineering as needed. Controls vendor access and compliance with the hospitals vendor policies. Assists with product recalls. Supports the facilities Value Analysis and cost containment initiatives as needed. Provides assistance with reports, records maintenance, and associated data entry. Coordinates with schedulers regarding the need for vendors for scheduled procedures. Assists with billing associated activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
