About The Position

The Inventory Control position is critical to ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of an organization's inventory management system. The primary goal of this role is to maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring stock movements, conducting regular audits, and reconciling discrepancies to prevent loss and overstock situations. This role involves collaborating closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast demand and streamline supply chain operations. The Inventory Control specialist will also be responsible for implementing and improving inventory control procedures to enhance operational workflows and reduce costs. Ultimately, this position supports the organization's ability to meet customer demand promptly while minimizing inventory-related risks and expenses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform physical inventory counts and work in a warehouse environment.
  • Communication and collaboration skills are used to coordinate with various departments to forecast demand and adjust inventory levels effectively.
  • Analytical skills help in interpreting inventory data and generating reports that inform decision-making and process improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Knowledge of lean inventory practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track inventory levels using inventory management software to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts to verify stock quantities and identify discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by coordinating with warehouse staff and other departments.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and adjust stock levels accordingly.
  • Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, trends, and variances for management review.
  • Assist in training warehouse and inventory staff on proper inventory handling and control techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
