About The Position

The Inventory Control Supervisor role is responsible for providing guidance and coordination of the non-exempt Inventory Control Team's daily activities to maintain accurate inventory records in line with the client service level agreement. This role assists site Inventory Control and Operations Leadership in assessing inventory inaccuracies and recommending corrective actions for continuous process improvement. The supervisor ensures customer inventory control accuracy and shrink contractual requirements are monitored and reported timely. They are responsible for maximizing the performance of site inventory processes and systems to ensure care, custody, and control of customer inventory, accuracy, and proper utilization of information technology. Additionally, the role involves providing required documentation for compliance, ensuring a safe and fair work environment, conducting performance reviews, developing associates, and enforcing company policies. The position also ensures associates have proper training and necessary tools.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 4 years experience, required
  • Knowledge of systems such as JDA, Manhattan, WMS, DMPLUS, SAP, etc. required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of scanning freight in/out of the warehouse
  • Detail oriented and strong follow-up skills
  • Able to walk/stand/kneel for long periods of time and lift 40-50 pounds occasionally
  • Fork lift experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent
  • Some knowledge of inventory control, preferred
  • Reach Truck experience is a plus
  • Experience with hazmat/dangerous goods and temperature control is a plus
  • Warehouse management systems (WMS) experience is preferred
  • Warehouse and / or Freight Forwarding industry experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coordination of the non-exempt Inventory Control Team daily activities necessary to maintain accurate inventory records relative to the client service level agreement.
  • Assist site Inventory Control and Operations Leadership and Operations Peers in assessing inventory inaccuracies and recommending corrective action necessary to support continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure customer inventory control accuracy and shrink contractual requirements / service level agreements are monitored and reported timely to site leadership.
  • Maximize the performance of the site inventory processes and system to ensure: Care, custody, and control of customer inventory; Accuracy (to floor and customer book); Proper utilization of information technology.
  • Provide required documentation to customer, customer’s financial statement auditor or appropriate regulatory auditor in support of compliance requirements.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates.
  • Conduct associate performance reviews, individual development plans and succession plans.
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, administered, and enforced at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure associates have proper training and access to the necessary tools to perform their assigned duties.
  • Report non-conformities to warehouse manager.
  • Perform pre-conditioning, buildup, and breakdown of ULDs, active, and passive temperature-controlled packaging.
