About The Position

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of a busy Shipping and Receiving department, ensuring that items are shipped, received and put away efficiently and accurately. The Supervisor will motivate and lead a team of Shippers, Receivers, Material Handlers and Inventory Control staff to support the material requirements of a manufacturer of heavy equipment dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, the Supervisor must have effective communication skills and an ability and willingness to mediate difficult interpersonal situations, fostering strong team dynamics. Location: Paris, ON Dedicated Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday

Requirements

Demonstrated experience managing shipping and receiving operations and inventory control within a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and implement solutions
Proven organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication and collaboration skills across production, purchasing, quality, and leadership teams
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience with ERP systems and inventory control processes
Experience supporting system implementations or enhancements
Solid financial knowledge related to inventory valuation, cost control, and budget planning
Post-secondary education related to the following areas: Supply Chain Management, Logistics / Transportation, Business Administration (operations or supply chain focus) or Operations Management

CSCP – Certified Supply Chain Professional
SCMP – Supply Chain Management Professional
Lean / Six Sigma
Formal inventory management or warehouse management certificates
ERP & Inventory Systems training

Responsibilities

Guide team through change and continuous improvement activities
Proactively lead the team to achieve all safety, quality and productivity objectives
Demonstrate and ensure compliance with health and safety policies
Respond to quality issues, determine root causes and implement solutions
Coach, support, motivate, and recognize employees in their work
Active engagement and supervisor with on-floor presence, dealing with personnel issues and/or bringing up any significant issues to the immediate attention of Management and HR
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees
Conduct regular Performance Reviews and implement Performance Improvement Plans
Assist in proper documentation of Disability Claims, WSIB Claims, Return to Work Plans, etc.
Involvement and leadership in Lean Manufacturing and Quality Improvement initiatives
