About The Position

The Inventory Control Supervisor will oversee daily inventory control operations, including receiving verification, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, material transactions, and stock accuracy. This role involves leading and developing inventory control staff through training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management. The supervisor will maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/MRP systems, monitor inventory levels to support manufacturing, and coordinate cycle count programs and annual physical inventories. A key responsibility is investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to improve accuracy and ensure full material traceability in accordance with quality and regulatory standards. Collaboration with various departments to resolve material shortages and issues, monitoring material flow, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives are also crucial. The role includes developing and maintaining inventory control procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and contamination control standards, analyzing inventory metrics, preparing reports, and assisting with audits.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of cycle counting, physical inventory audits, and root cause analysis for discrepancies.
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate warehouse staff while setting clear daily productions goals.
  • 1 to 3 years of proven experience leading a team, directing staff, or managing daily shift operations.
  • Ability to stand, walk for long periods, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong proficiency in Inventory Management Systems and the ability to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for tracking and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily inventory control operations including receiving verification, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, material transactions, and stock accuracy.
  • Lead and develop inventory control staff by providing training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP/MRP systems and ensure all transactions are completed timely and accurately.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, production supplies, containment components, and finished products to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee cycle count programs and annual physical inventories.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure full material traceability and is maintained in accordance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with production planning, purchasing, warehouse, and quality departments to resolve material shortages and inventory issues.
  • Monitor material flow between warehouse, production, clean manufacturing areas, and shipping operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, waste reduction, and process efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures, work instructions, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, contamination control requirements, and material handling standards.
  • Analyze inventory metrics and prepare reports related to inventory accuracy, shortages, usage trends, and obsolete materials.
  • Assist with audits and support documentation requirements for quality and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain organization and control of storage locations to ensure efficient material retrieval and proper stock rotation practices.
