About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist orders and delivers supplies and maintains inventory control in assigned areas. Communicates inventory problems to the Supervisor and pertinent supply information to the appropriate department. Enters Storeroom and Linen Room transactions into the computer system. Responsible for managing supply locations in Clinical areas (where applicable), which includes updating par papers, shelf labeling, rotation of supplies etc. Assist with the handling of product conversions, evaluations and recalls.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Must be accurate in dealing with figures.
  • Prior computer experience preferred.
  • Inventory control background.

  • Exceptions can be made for students still attending high school.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering and controlling the inventory in assigned areas.
  • Ensuring adequate stock turnover rate.
  • Entering issues, returns and credits into the computer for all supplies and linen.
  • Expediting with Purchasing items that are out of stock or low stock.
  • Communicating the status of these items to the Inventory Control Distribution Manager, Purchasing and the user department.
  • Updating Par Stock papers.
  • Maintaining proper shelf labels of all supplies being stocked in designated area.
  • Filing requisitions and reports in an orderly manner.
  • Handling Linen in accordance to Hospital Policy and Infection Control standards.
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly area according to EOC, DOH, JCACHO requirements.
  • Assisting with recalls, evaluations, product conversions.
