About The Position

The Bernard Group is a 100% employee-owned visual merchandising company seeking an Inventory Control Specialist. This role is crucial for ensuring all materials entering and leaving The Bernard Group are accurately accounted for. You will be part of a team that collaborates to deliver world-class products to customers, ensuring the integrity of inventory from raw materials to finished goods.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • 5 years experience in fulfillment or warehouse environment
  • 2 years experience in lead or supervisor role
  • 2 years experience using ERP or WMS (Warehouse Management System) software as it relates to Primary Responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills with peers, purchasing department, internal and external customers, and vendors
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use data to resolve problems such as inventory shortages, vendor out of stock, and other related issues
  • Ability to use spreadsheets to compile data and present it in a manner that is understandable to people at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Foster strong working relationships both inside and outside the company
  • Track trends within data sets to ensure proactive issue resolution
  • Prior work experience with databases and spreadsheets or Google Sheets
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all materials brought into The Bernard Group are correctly accounted for.
  • Ensure all materials used for jobs are removed correctly.
  • Respond to material heads-up requests from planning.
  • Manage replenishment of material based on kanban cards from the production floor.
  • Address errored material pulls within the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and planning on material requirements.
  • Update inventory control manager on critical issues requiring escalation.
  • Work with the receiving/materials department on material needs.
  • Assist the production team with ad-hoc material requests.
  • Work with planning on correct material allocation.
  • Assist the receiving team with material movements.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory projects.
  • Ensure in-bound material for job demand is processed correctly.
  • Process all inventory transactions for material usage correctly, including corrections for errors.
  • Effectively communicate all task hand-off activities to internal customers.
  • Manage the conversion of material from one form factor to another (e.g., kits to components, boards to panels, rolls to boards).
  • Maintain the accuracy of perpetual to physical counts.
  • Apply industry best practices for storage and handling of material after receipt and prior to picking for shipment.
  • Complete all other assigned or apparent tasks.
  • Manage the accuracy of ERP inventory item IDs at the item detail level.
  • Work with departments to ensure material details meet their needs.
  • Manage the accuracy of ERP perpetual inventory values.
  • Work with departments to ensure material is being moved, consumed, and staged correctly.
  • Work with the systems team to ensure the correct materials are represented in Collaterate.
  • Utilize Collaterate to gain insight into other material demands.
