About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the availability of materials to meet production and customer demands while minimizing excess or obsolete stock. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage time effectively, and basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and ERP systems. The position operates within shop and outdoor environments with moderate noise levels and exposure to dust, heat, and cold. Adherence to OSHA safety regulations and company policies, including drug testing, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Minimum of 3 years inventory control experience
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete all tasks required per daily schedule
  • Ability to accurately record information
  • Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets and ERP systems
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively
  • Basic math ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Manual dexterity

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 3 years of MRP experience
  • 2 years' manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control techniques
  • Good knowledge of tooling and hardware

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies with the ERP system.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by investigating root causes of errors and recommending corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to support production schedules and customer orders.
  • Track inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and returns.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, production, and purchasing teams to ensure smooth material flow from multiple locations.
  • Audit inventory transactions for accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Generate inventory reports, such as aging reports, variance reports, and inventory valuation summaries.
  • Ensure proper labeling, binning, and location of materials for traceability and organization.
  • Support physical inventory events, including annual counts and special audits.
  • Keep assigned inventory areas organized and safe per 5S protocol.
  • Package vendor returns, protecting contents for shipping.
  • Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely and effectively.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with team members.
  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Manufacturing.
  • Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual and Procedure Level documentation.
  • Participate actively and positively in Lean activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
