About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in supporting Warehouse operations by ensuring accurate and timely management of inventory data and work order processes. This position is responsible for the completion and reconciliation of work orders, performing cycle counts, conducting accurate data entry into the ERP system (Sage), and creating or updating work orders as needed. Additional responsibilities include tracking product yields, generating inventory reports for internal teams, customers, and the corporate office, and identifying opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and traceability on the production floor. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in inventory control processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems preferred
  • Comprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculator.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel, and experience with Sage or similar ERP systems
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Ability to communicate well both written and orally within the organization

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all NLX established safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Follow all Quality Assurance protocols, including Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
  • Perform regular cycle counts on consumables and conduct finished goods counts as needed to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to relevant cross-functional teams
  • Monitor aging reports and collaborate with the materials team to ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions
  • Verify alignment between raw material inventory and production plans, ensuring all materials are available as scheduled
  • Communicate inventory and production count variances clearly and provide recommendations when needed
  • Support continuous improvement of materials tracking and documentation processes in partnership with department heads and supervisors
  • Maintain accurate, timely communication with production, warehouse, and materials teams regarding inventory status, changes, and needs
  • Actively participate in weekly scheduling meetings and other cross-functional efforts
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
