About The Position

This role is for an Inventory Control Specialist on the Plastics team, working as an on-site employee on the 1st shift. The primary function is to maintain inventory accuracy in warehouses by monitoring negative inventory, conducting root cause analysis for discrepancies, and performing cycle counts. The role also involves receiving functions, maintaining quarantine locations, generating and reviewing reports for QA and outside warehouse locations, conducting MUV reviews, verifying and coordinating work orders and sub-supplier processes, processing requisition requests, maintaining the invoice dashboard, calculating and posting metrics, documenting and reporting packing concern sheets, managing IPS uploads and materials in JDE, entering and coordinating sales orders, and processing scrap requests. Additionally, the role includes assisting other facilities with work order corrections, coordinating excess and obsolete write-offs, supporting inventory control best practices, ensuring compliance, participating in leadership reviews, and performing other duties as assigned, including overtime when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of automotive experience with OEM and Tier customers.
  • Prior experience in warehouse inventory control or asset management.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, including Future 3 Automotive Release software, JD Edwards, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze and distribute workloads.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently.
  • Physical capability to handle warehouse tasks up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance standards.

  • Additional education in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy in warehouses by monitoring negative inventory, conducting root cause analysis for discrepancies, and performing cycle counts.
  • Carry out receiving functions, including handling receivers for drop ship materials and maintaining quarantine locations.
  • Preserve the integrity of QA and outside warehouse locations by generating, sharing, and reviewing relevant reports.
  • Conduct MUV reviews and attend meetings to ensure proper oversight of materials.
  • Verify and coordinate work orders and sub-supplier processes daily with other departments.
  • Process requisition requests promptly and maintain invoice dashboard for accurate financial tracking.
  • Calculate and post metrics regularly and document, report, and follow up on all incoming packing concern sheets.
  • Manage IPS uploads for CPD Freight and maintenance of materials in the BFLSH location in JDE.
  • Enter, coordinate, and schedule sales orders.
  • Process scrap requests from QA weekly upon approval.
  • Assist other facilities with work order corrections.
  • Coordinate excess and obsolete write-offs and disposal.
  • Support inventory control best practices and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in weekly leadership reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working overtime when required.
