About The Position

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will oversee the ordering, storing, receiving, and distributing process of pharmaceuticals. This is a full-time position based in Richmond, VA and requires daily travel in your own vehicle to satellite offices including Fredericksburg, Tappahannock, Colonial Heights, and Williamsburg. We pay mileage and time worked for travel!

Requirements

  • Must be available for daily travel to satellite locations (travel occurs five days per week, sometimes to multiple satellite locations daily).
  • Ability to use inventory computer programs to update counts and compile reports, such as spreadsheets
  • Mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift, move, unpack, and shelve heavy boxes (up to 75 lbs).
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of reliability, attendance, punctuality, and flexibility with before- and after- hours scheduling, including weekends.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of inventory, QA, compliance, purchasing, or supply chain experience required. Medical setting preferred.
  • Driver's License required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Proficiency in Excel including but not limited to advanced Functions and Pivot Tables.
  • This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all clinical and office supply ordering, inventorying, and tracking.
  • Keep track of drug purchases and dispensing all locations to maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Daily reconciliation of drug usage and billing.
  • Maximize drug reimbursement by performing chart audits to ensure billing compliance.
  • Responsible for aging reports, value of current inventory on hand, and expected reimbursement reports.
