About The Position

The Inventory Control Slotting Manager is responsible for managing systemic inventory operations on a multi-site level. This role ensures adequate inventory of products and services in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy, in coordination with site Supervisors. The individual conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems and develops and implements systemic changes within the WMS to increase productivity and efficiency. The manager will oversee and assign priorities for all aspects of system improvements and maintenance within the scope of inventory control, including labor, documentation/time requirements, and operational demands. This role also involves working with slotting software and consultants to create, implement, and execute slotting efforts.

Requirements

  • 10 years or more progressively increasing responsibility within inventory and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to report/track trending and historical data.
  • Strong business writing and case analysis skills.
  • Intermediate algebra and financial math skills.
  • Experience in Inventory Control, Transportation Warehouse.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Excel including pivot tables, data analysis, and macros.
  • Highly skilled in WMS systems, setup, and problem solving.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine "root cause" of problems and determine corrective action.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews slotting recommendations for possible issues/concerns and addresses as appropriate.
  • Implements and assigns slotting tasks, system parameter updates, and routine maintenance in WMS.
  • Ensures that payroll time is correct.
  • Consistently communicates with internal and external clients.
  • Reviews customer requests as a Subject Matter Expert and provides feedback.
  • Coordinates overall efforts related to slotting and systemic maintenance of WMS inventory parameters.
  • Attends all strategic leadership meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Keeps track of all facility updates.
  • Tracks KPIs.
  • Maintains and documents facility efficiency updates within WMS.
  • Ensures that performance reviews, team goals, and forecasting are documented and completed in a timely manner.
  • Forecasts major slotting initiatives.
  • Manages a staff of employees.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, mentors, and holds all warehouse staff accountable.
  • Leads or supports IT modification projects.
  • Maintains an organized, neat, and orderly operation as it pertains to Inventory Control.
  • Ensures that all project and client KPIs are met or exceed expectations.
  • Maintains AIB/SQF policy and procedures.
