About The Position

Description Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service. Receiving & Delivery Management Receive all DSD (Direct Store Delivery) deliveries and log all deliveries—including non‑Albertsons/Tom Thumb distribution deliveries—into the computer system. Break down loads from DSD suppliers; transport product from receiving area into freezer or cooler when needed. Review and accept only accurate and legitimate orders submitted by outside sales representatives. Verify orders against invoices, audit case contents, and use electronic receiving systems to ensure correct costing. Maintain invoices and reports in the established filing system according to record‑retention schedules. Inspect backroom equipment (pallet jacks, balers, etc.) and report any malfunction to the Store Director. Inventory, Quality & Shrink Control Ensure cost control, quality control, and inventory control through accurate verification and auditing processes. Prevent shrink, damage, and spoilage; repair and price saleable damaged product, discard or return unsaleable items to vendors as required. Ensure proper code‑date compliance for all products within the department. Maintain organization, sanitation, and security of receiving, storage, and loading dock areas. Control shrink and departmental costs in accordance with company standards. May assist with ordering, stocking, facing/conditioning, pricing, marking, and rotating dairy and frozen foods when clerks are unavailable. Operational Standards & Equipment Follow and maintain department standards and operating requirements. Operate equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, power lifts, balers, compactors, safety cutters, scissors, pricing guns, telephones, handhelds, and printers. Implement emergency procedures in response to equipment or computer malfunctions. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in all work areas and equipment. Comply fully with company safety rules, grooming standards, and dress code. Perform all duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Training & Leadership Train employees on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping processes. Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement. Maintain working knowledge of all policies outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Additional Responsibilities Perform required administrative paperwork and maintain accurate departmental records. Carry out all other necessary and assigned duties.
