Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service.
  • Receive incoming calls and respond appropriately; resolve customer issues and escalate to the Store Director as needed.
  • Assist customers by preventing shrink through proper handling, pricing, and management of product condition.
  • Receive all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) shipments and all non‑Albertsons/Tom Thumb distribution deliveries.
  • Log all deliveries accurately in the computer system and maintain documentation according to record‑retention standards.
  • Break down DSD loads and transport product to freezer or cooler when needed.
  • Verify deliveries by comparing product to invoices, auditing case contents, and using the electronic receiving system to confirm cost accuracy.
  • Accept only correct and properly submitted orders from outside sales representatives.
  • Maintain organization, sanitation, and security of the receiving area, storage, and loading dock.
  • Prevent shrink, damage, spoilage, and loss through proper receiving, handling, and product rotation.
  • Repair and price damaged product when saleable; discard or return unsellable items to vendors as required.
  • Control inventory levels to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Ensure proper code‑dating compliance for all products within the department.
  • Maintain accurate invoices, reports, and related documentation.
  • Control shrink and monitor cost‑effectiveness in all receiving and backroom operations.
  • Operate related equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, power lifts, balers, compactors, safety cutters, pricing guns, handheld devices, telephones, and printers.
  • Inspect backroom equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, balers) and report malfunctions to the Store Director.
  • Implement emergency procedures during equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Occasionally support dairy and frozen operations by ordering, stocking, stacking, facing, pricing, marking, and rotating product in the absence of department clerks.
  • Maintain sales floor and department standards through proper product rotation, display maintenance, and departmental cleanliness.
  • Train employees in store policies, sales procedures, receiving processes, and record‑keeping.
  • Identify and develop high‑potential employees for advancement opportunities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with company grooming standards, dress code requirements, and code‑dating policies.
  • Promote and ensure safety, cleanliness, sanitation, and proper work practices across all receiving and storage areas.
  • Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Initiate personnel actions when necessary, including pre‑employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Perform all duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
  • Carry out other necessary and assigned responsibilities as required.
