About The Position

Maintain, oversee, and support the accuracy, receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of inventory across the Distribution Center, including Derstine’s Foodservice and EZ3PL inventory. This role places specific emphasis on inventory integrity, operational efficiency, quality, safety, and timely communication across departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to multitask with strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to learn warehouse duties, inventory control responsibilities, system transactions, and food service inventory processes.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and reconcile inventory-related information.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the Standard English language.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently within time constraints while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, foodservice, cold storage, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Experience with RF scanner use, SAP, EWM, or similar warehouse management systems.
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, product movement research, billing support, or related system transactions.
  • Forklift licensure or ability to obtain required PIT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure order and inventory accuracy with specific emphasis on inbound and outbound deliveries, inventory control documentation, bin-to-bin movements, putaway, replenishment, cycle counts, and Derstine’s Foodservice and EZ3PL inventory activity.
  • Serve as a key point of communication between management, shift leadership, inventory staff, warehouse associates, and applicable internal departments to ensure priorities, directives, and follow-up items are completed accurately and on time.
  • Motivate and guide the team in completing daily inventory and warehouse tasks including, but not limited to, picking, replenishment, receiving, cycle counts, putaway, adjustments, product research, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Complete 1,000 cycle counts weekly, consisting of 500 counts for DFS and 500 counts for EZ3PL, ensuring all counts are completed, researched, documented, and corrected or escalated as appropriate.
  • Perform Year-end inventory of Derstine’s Foodservice and EZ3PL.
  • Own the Sold Below Cost Report.
  • Become a SAP Super-user Champion.
  • Train junior staff on facility operations, inventory procedures, RF scanner use, SAP/EWM transactions, safety expectations, and applicable SOPs.
  • Ensure room cleaning, organization, product rotation, and housekeeping standards are maintained during and at the end of each shift.
  • Operate PIT equipment as required and maintain required licensure or certification.
  • Perform quality assurance checks for product type, weight specifications, batch numbers, date codes, labeling, storage location accuracy, and FIFO compliance.
  • Research, identify, and help resolve inventory discrepancies, warehouse errors, system issues, and product movement concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support Derstine’s Foodservice and EZ3PL inventory processes, including monitoring inventory accuracy, assisting with counts, validating product movement, supporting order fulfillment accuracy, and communicating concerns to management.
  • Remain flexible in daily work assignments and demonstrate the ability to learn and support multiple functions including loader, receiver, inventory control, replenishment, and related warehouse duties.
  • Perform job functions two levels below the position, as needed, to help fill vacancies and support operational needs.
  • Perform all required duties using RF scanner equipment and applicable inventory systems.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager or other management team members.
  • Train new Inventory Control Specialists and support continued development of inventory team members.
  • Take ownership of assigned inventory control processes, including Derstine’s Foodservice and EZ3PL inventory accuracy, system integrity, discrepancy research, and timely follow-up with management.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory errors at an acceptable level through proactive research, timely corrections, and clear communication.
  • Respond to inventory-related emails, requests, and follow-up items within 24 hours when possible or escalate when additional support is needed.
  • Accurately log additional labor hours, indirect labor tasks, and inventory support activity as required.
  • Take ownership of daily refrigeration and temperature logging in accordance with applicable SOPs and policies.
  • Ensure weekly cycle count expectations are completed within EWM and that discrepancies are researched, documented, corrected, or escalated as appropriate.
  • Support Derstine’s Foodservice and EZ3PL inventory by helping maintain accurate product counts, product movement records, system transactions, rotation practices, and communication with applicable teams.
