UCT is looking for a talented Inventory Control Lead to join us in Austin, TX! The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, control processes, and material flow to support efficient and reliable operations. This role provides day‑to‑day leadership for inventory activities, ensures adherence to inventory policies and procedures, and serves as the first point of escalation for discrepancies or control issues. The Inventory Control Lead drives accuracy, visibility, and continuous improvement to support production, fulfillment, and financial integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain operations.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
  • Proven ability to lead or coordinate work activities in an operational environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory management systems and standard office applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments.
  • Familiarity with inventory controls, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success improving inventory accuracy or reducing discrepancies.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior inventory staff.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Formal training or certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CPIM or equivalent).
  • Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily inventory control activities to ensure accurate tracking and availability of materials.
  • Coordinate and prioritize inventory transactions, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory control procedures, system requirements, and internal controls.
  • Serve as first‑level escalation point for inventory discrepancies, shortages, or process issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality teams to resolve inventory issues.
  • Support physical inventories and audit activities; ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Train and coach inventory control staff on procedures, systems, and best practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
