Inventory Team Lead (Distribution Center) Position Summary If you are passionate about inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and leading frontline teams, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Based at our Forney Distribution Center, the Inventory Team Lead is responsible for leading the daily execution of inventory control activities to ensure inventory accuracy across the distribution center. This role provides day-to-day leadership for cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, root cause analysis, and inventory process discipline while partnering closely with Operations, Materials, Customer Service, and Quality. The Inventory Team Lead serves as the frontline leader responsible for driving execution, coaching associates, and improving inventory integrity through disciplined processes and continuous improvement. This position operates under the general guidance of the Materials Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, or distribution center operations.
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating frontline associates.
  • Strong knowledge of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and inventory control principles.
  • Experience working with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle, Manhattan, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze inventory trends and identify root causes.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive execution, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume distribution center operations.
  • Experience reconciling ERP and WMS inventory.
  • Knowledge of Manhattan WMS and Oracle ERP.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience developing inventory KPI dashboards and operational reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily cycle count execution to ensure inventory accuracy goals are achieved.
  • Prioritize and assign daily work for Inventory Associates to support business needs and cycle count schedules.
  • Ensure completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory count requirements.
  • Coach and develop Inventory Associates on inventory control processes, system transactions, and standard work.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes through data analysis and process validation.
  • Reconcile inventory differences between Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP systems.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve inventory accuracy and eliminate recurring discrepancies.
  • Partner with Operations, Receiving, Shipping, Materials, Customer Service, and Quality to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Support inventory audits and ensure compliance with inventory control procedures.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory processes.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
