About The Position

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for assisting the Distribution Department in continuous growth and financial success of the Membership and Company. This role involves ensuring ultimate customer service to members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits. Key duties include researching warehouse discrepancies, performing slot checks, managing product expiration, understanding damage and donation processes, completing warehouse slot changes, verifying inventory, and utilizing Power BI for ship date recording. The position also requires operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and working collaboratively as a team member with integrity and tact.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred.
  • Warehouse mobile equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Conscientiousness, detail oriented, safety minded, self motivated to achieve, high initiative, ability to work with limited supervision, team oriented, learning and applying information, ability to follow instructions in English (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence relating to position.
  • Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic math and algebra.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess the ability to work with coworkers and gain mutual respect with a common goal of increasing sales and profitability.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to operate safely warehouse mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Research warehouse scratches and perform slot checks as needed.
  • Check all items approaching expiration and communicate the necessary information to the buying team.
  • Product capture knowledge.
  • A clear understanding of the damage, donation, and reclamation processes.
  • Complete warehouse slot changes and strategy changes.
  • Verify expiration dates, pull close dated product.
  • Verify inventory in aisles as assigned.
  • Make appropriate adjustments.
  • Utilize Power BI to record the ship date on pre booked items to ensure we have the right items slotted.
  • Operate MHE.
  • Work as a member of the AWG team so the total job responsibilities are met.
  • Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members, associates and division management.
