About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's inventory. This involves reviewing stock inconsistencies, managing the return of materials from production, adjusting inventory records, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth inventory operations. The specialist will perform cycle counts, assist with problem-solving related to materials, and contribute to maintaining an organized and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with a strong desire to excel and work independently within established procedures. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent. Previous quality experience may replace degree requirements.
  • Stays abreast of appropriate or emerging quality initiatives and drives development and implementation of best practices.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems ERP required.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for providing customer service, including needs assessments, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, and systems such as word processing.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and statistics.
  • Knowledge of quality and statistical techniques, tools and processes, which maximize effectiveness and ensure appropriate application and analysis of data.
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six-Sigma concepts is preferred.
  • Use logic to identify approaches to problems, solutions and drawing conclusions.
  • Managing your own time with the ability to plan and multitask.
  • Must be able to teach others how to perform tasks. Patient and not easily frustrated.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Determining causes of errors and deciding a plan of action to correct the error.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals to make improvements or take corrective action.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift operator certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of wire/cable and/or plastics manufacturing processes including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and techniques which maximize effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly review and analyze stock discrepancies and investigate the root cause of inconsistencies, taking corrective actions.
  • Collect, process, and accurately document return materials from production.
  • Make necessary adjustments to inventory records based on returned materials and discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and reconcile counted inventory with system records, investigating any variances.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to perform floor inventory counts and assist in resolving identified issues.
  • Work with various departments to address and resolve material-related problems and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain and promote the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within the department, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in identifying and reducing job material transaction variances and develop/implement strategies to minimize variances.
  • Report and document safety incidents and near misses, and participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
