This position reports to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining a good working inventory of all parts, tools, and supplies needed by the production and maintenance departments. The role involves working with maintenance and production personnel, supplying all necessary parts and supplies to expedite jobs and meet production requirements. A key aspect of the role is establishing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and suppliers to increase availability and reduce costs. The Inventory Control Manager will set up and maintain records of all parts and items used by departments and associates, including cost, descriptions, and histories. Responsibilities also include shipping out items as needed, standardizing parts and supplies where possible, and reporting monthly operational costs by department, machine, and area to management. The role requires working with all associates to supply needed parts for maintenance and production, ordering parts and supplies from the quickest and most cost-effective vendors, and working with vendors to achieve the greatest cost-to-value ratio. Additionally, the position involves maintaining tool usage and supply control through the stockroom using records and sign-out sheets to control losses, understanding and effectively using Personal Protective Equipment, and setting up and maintaining stockroom and computer files and records as required.
