Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
  • Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating power equipment is required, such as Reach Truck, EPJ and/or cherry picker/order picker.
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write emails.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
  • Forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts cycle counts and bin location audits.
  • Assists in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
  • Works with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager on inventory-related functions for materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
  • Performs physical counts of inventory items to maintain accuracy.
  • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations daily.
  • Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Spends 80% or more of the workday performing inventory-related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet.
  • Spends 20% or less of the workday working at a computer terminal.
  • Travels to and assists at other facilities as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Physically counts articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
  • Utilizes computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
