About The Position

The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for performing inventory of materials and supplies. This role involves conducting ABC cycle counts of current on-hand stock to ensure accuracy and integrity of data in SAP. The associate will assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and material movement records, and perform line counts of raw material in Supermarkets and WIP.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-4 Year Degree College or University applicable field of study as appropriate or equivalent proven experience
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in Logistics, Shipping/Receiving or Warehousing in a JIT/JIS manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of fundamental inventory management methods.
  • Knowledge of inventory record keeping for materials and supplies by means of a manual and or automated record system.
  • Experience working with SAP (or similar ERP system) - specifically materials management module
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience creating/documenting process flow charts and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Forklift certified or certifiable
  • Previous experience with RF and bar coding
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Must be available to work flexible hours to service plant operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Good math skills
  • Excellent computer skills—MS Excel, Access, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure or time commitments
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Must be able to work any shift as required including overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Complete cycle counts of finished goods inventory.
  • Complete ABC daily cycle counts as determined systematically and on demand for raw, WIP and finished material.
  • Maintain inventory records and files with supportive documentation of stock items.
  • Review goods receipts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Report discrepancies and variations discovered to Logistics Operations Group Leader.
  • Provide recommendations for changes to stock levels, based on observation of inventory utilization and complaints.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of annual physical inventory and other interior inventories as required.
  • Prepare daily inventory reports or other inventory reports as determined.
  • Maintain departmental quality standards per IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Develop/improve efficiency and accuracy in daily cycle counting functions through joint efforts with Logistics Operations Group Leader.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements to handling and storage of raw, WIP and finished goods.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, kanban, poka-yoke, visual management, 1-piece flow, etc.
  • Work with cross functional group to improve processes and flow.
