About The Position

The Inventory Control Assistant I is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records within warehouse and manufacturing environments. This role performs cycle counts, physical inventory verification, and system transactions while investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies. The incumbent supports operational efficiency by ensuring inventory accuracy, adherence to established procedures, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one 1 year of experience in a warehouse, inventory control, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate inventory counts and basic inventory audits.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the use of inventory systems and standard office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, web‑based tools).
  • Ability to read, follow, and execute written and verbal work instructions.
  • High school diploma or GED. Relevant work experience will also be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate cycle counts and physical inventory verification across reserve, active, and case storage locations.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, variances, and root causes, and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Execute inventory transactions within multiple ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Pick, stage, transact, and transfer materials in and out of inventory as required.
  • Process scrap, split moves, and inventory adjustments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Utilize dashboards and reports to complete daily inventory tasks, including transfers and purge requests.
  • Maintain accurate location control by storing, rotating, and replenishing inventory appropriately.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and approved manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment, supporting 6S standards.
  • Follow all company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, peers, and cross‑functional departments in a professional manner.
