About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an Inventory Control Analyst to join their team. This role reports directly to the MRO Inventory Manager and serves as a liaison between field operations, Fleet, manufacturers, and suppliers. The primary focus is to support the procurement process by managing operational inventory, including its purchase, receipt, shipment, disposal, return, and organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field of study.
  • 2-5 years of inventory management experience required.
  • Experienced with the construction equipment marketplace, either from an equipment fleet management or manufacturer perspective.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of an organization and processing an ability to articulate and frame issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to design and maintain reporting requiring advanced knowledge of relational database applications including but not limited to SQL Server, Sequel Viewpoint, Microsoft Query, and Microsoft Access.
  • Project management experience involving multiple business units and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to affect positive change and deliver results in a complex organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate preferred supplier inventory controls, catalog pricing, and GL categorization.
  • Assist with the SmartEquip procurement platform, including troubleshooting, training, maintenance, administration, and utilization efficiencies.
  • Analyze internal consumption, external sales, and industry-specific rental metrics to develop and execute replenishment for MRO Inventory.
  • Maintain item master data for all operational inventory.
  • Utilize reporting metrics for inventory management and vendor analytics.
  • Collaborate with the sourcing department to identify cost savings initiatives for inventory purchases and MRO expenses.
  • Advocate for vendor management and onboarding procedures, including vendor consolidation to reduce vendor count and drive cost savings through national strategic relationships.
  • Support PCs in total inventory life cycle management, including sourcing and data maintenance.
  • Support and drive supplier inventory programs that meet the requirements of rental and field operations.
  • Maintain a reliable maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) Procurement Platform, covering over 90% of all required parts and merchandise.
  • Enable seamless ordering capabilities for all active locations.
  • Engage key MRO suppliers in process improvement and program enhancements.
  • Act as an inventory consultant with field operators and promote an environment of continuous improvement.
