About The Position

Petro-Hunt, L.L.C, a Dallas, Texas mid-sized independent Oil and Gas Exploration Company, is seeking an Inventory Clerk for its Midland office. Petro-Hunt, L.L.C. is a privately held independent oil and gas company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Owned and operated by the William Herbert Hunt family, Petro-Hunt and its affiliates are actively engage in various industries with a primary focus in the oil and gas industry. Our company traces its roots to the 1920s, when the legendary H.L. Hunt entered the oil and gas business in El Dorado, Arkansas, and later played an active role in developing the East Texas Oil Field from the drill test of the Daisy Bradford #3. Today, Petro-Hunt is a Top 10 Private Liquids Producer in the U.S. with operations in six states. We are more than just an oil and gas company -- Petro-Hunt actively purchases minerals and royalties, owns and operates a gas processing facility, is part owner of an oil refinery, actively invests in real estate development, and operates a private equity alternative investment division.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or oilfield operations preferred.
  • Experience handling oilfield materials such as tubulars, rods, or surface equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (including TENORM) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between yards, field locations, and offices as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or technical degree preferred.
  • Basic understanding of oilfield equipment and operations.
  • Experience with inventory management software systems.
  • Experience with company accounting systems (inventory and asset tracking).
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (data tracking and reporting).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Track company-owned equipment.
  • Support field operations through efficient material coordination.
  • Manage inventory across yards and well sites, ensuring materials are properly accounted for.
  • Support operational needs through timely and accurate data management.
  • Coordinate with Drilling, Workover, and Production teams, as well as Accounting and Regulatory groups.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Facilitate equipment movement.
  • Support operational planning through forecasting and reporting.
  • Utilize inventory management software to maintain, track, and reconcile inventory including tubulars, rods, and surface equipment.
  • Perform routine physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Communicate with drilling and workover rig supervisors and consultants to ensure accurate reporting of inventory usage and movement.
  • Process inventory transactions within the company’s accounting system for movement, transfer, and disposition of assets.
  • Forecast requirements for pipe, tubulars, and surface equipment in coordination with operations personnel.
  • Coordinate delivery, transfer, and sale of company-owned equipment between locations or third parties.
  • Manage and track sales of unusable or excess equipment including scrap metal, pipe, rods, and other materials.
  • Ensure compliance with TENORM regulations as they apply to oilfield equipment handling and disposal.
  • Manage and maintain the district’s vehicle fleet, including tracking, usage, documentation, purchasing and selling.
  • Facilitate and support inventory audits conducted by internal and external accounting teams.
  • Assist with administrative and operational support processes as directed by the District Manager, including: Freshwater usage requests, Electrical power service requests.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for compliance, reporting, and operational transparency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory tracking, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
