About The Position

The Inventory Clerk assists the inventory department and maintenance by tracking, managing and maintaining inventory, parts or products housed in the warehouse. This role is highly organized with the ability to ensure that spare parts are at correct inventory levels and stock room organization. The Inventory Clerk will print inventory tags for current inventory, transition plant to Microsoft AX Materials Management, and set inventory locations in AX on the plant floor. Tasks include communicating discrepancies between receiving and the local buyer for final resolution, and reconciling the receiving log versus posted receipts daily to ensure timely posting and perpetual inventory accuracy. The role also involves maintaining backup files related to all receipts, posting manufacturing tickets scanned daily, and daily review of WIP reports prior to posting to help ensure perpetual inventory accuracy. Maintaining backup files related to production posting and daily review of Outstanding Production Tickets Reports are also key tasks to ensure perpetual inventory accuracy and capacity demands. The Inventory Clerk will be the point person for personnel who cannot find product to complete orders, and will aid Inventory Control with cycle counts and bin maintenance as needed. This role will also aid/backup Inventory Control as needed, assist with other administrative tasks as needed to include vacation coverage, and aid in training new employees on where material is stored. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating records, counting materials, equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock, reporting discrepancies between physical counts and computer records, distributing or stocking merchandise, and receiving and inventorying stock. Other duties as assigned and needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in cycle counting, inventory control, and computerized ERP and MRP system.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision and to be self-motivated.
  • Attention to details.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Possess the ability to create solutions.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Works with integrity and respect displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • High level of dexterity and skill to assemble doors, perform visual quality checks, and comprehend build construction specs, must work well as a team with Front Man.
  • Little to no supervision, proper placement of components to match build construction, run from tickets, verify quality/quantity, ensure the backboard is in place prior to assembly of next stack.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, stooping, and standing throughout your shift.
  • Must work at a fast pace and handle multiple parts that have glue on them.
  • Strong eye/hand coordination.
  • Standing for long continuous hours.
  • Attention to detail of build construction and accuracy of material placement.
  • Focus on glue level on materials and hand placements.
  • Must work closely with another operator, skin flipper, and pressman as a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
