About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly Inventory Clerk 1st Shift Team Member! This position involves performing accurate and timely inventory and general accounting functions, processing daily production paperwork to track yields, and maintaining inventory tracking spreadsheets. The role also includes creating and posting inventory assembly entries, assisting with the receipt of inventory items, reviewing payroll records, and applying customer payments. The Inventory Clerk will perform accounting duties in accordance with company policies, research and resolve discrepancies, and maintain effective communication with personnel and management. This role requires maintaining a clean and secure work area, keeping management informed of activities, and reporting transactions outside of purchasing policies. Confidentiality is essential, and special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets
  • Two or more years of previous spreadsheet experience
  • Knowledge of Company policies regarding inventory and purchasing
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperatively with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Additional bookkeeping courses preferred
  • At least two years of previous accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Additional qualifications as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the accurate and timely performance of inventory/general accounting functions.
  • Processes daily production paperwork to track production yields.
  • Maintains inventory tracking spreadsheets for use within the company.
  • Creates and posts inventory assembly entries to the general ledger to relieve inventory and build items for billing.
  • Assists with the receipt of inventory items into the accounting software.
  • Reviews payroll records for accuracy and submits weekly hourly payroll to an outside payroll company.
  • Applies customer payments and reconciles cash receipts to deposit amounts before posting.
  • Performs accounting duties in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Researches and resolves production yield problems.
  • Researches and resolves inventory discrepancies regarding production.
  • Maintains and projects the company’s professional reputation.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with company personnel and with management.
  • Assists Accounting Department personnel as needed.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Reports transactions that are outside established purchasing policies to the Controller.
  • Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or to correct transactions.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Performs general accounting duties as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
