About The Position

An inventory clerk tracks the flow of goods in warehouses, retail, lots, or stockrooms by recording, auditing, and organizing stock. Key duties include managing inventory data, processing shipments, and reconciling counts, requiring high attention to detail and physical stamina. Candidates typically need a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and ability to lift 25-50 lbs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in warehousing, shipping, or logistics is preferred (often 6 months to 2 years).

Responsibilities

  • Count, classify, and organize merchandise, ensuring stockroom accuracy.
  • Perform data entry to update inventory levels, using systems like Excel, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments, and prepare items for outgoing orders.
  • Identify discrepancies, such as shortages or damage, and report them to management.
  • Replenish shelves, tag items, and maintain a clean, organized storage area.
