About The Position

The Inventory Associate position is a full-time role located at our Custer Location (2700 S Custer Ave Wichita, KS 67217). This role involves receiving, checking, storing, and issuing materials while maintaining inventory control. The associate will also be responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering materials, preparing and packaging parts, and using computer systems for inventory management and data entry. Handling sensitive materials, including those with shelf-life, time/temperature sensitivity, and chemicals, is also a key part of the job. The role requires physical capability to lift heavy items, often as a team, and adherence to military and aerospace regulations. Additionally, the associate will assist other employees, contribute to process improvement, maintain a clean work environment, and safely operate a forklift and pallet jack.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a heated environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and climb steps, in an area with limited climate control
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull heavy materials safely, up to 50 lbs independently, using team lift when necessary for heavier materials over 50 lbs.
  • Hand/finger dexterity
  • Visual acuity
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or properly licensed foreign person due to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, check, store and issue a variety of materials while maintaining inventory control.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a high stress environment.
  • Load, unload and deliver a variety of materials to various locations throughout the facility.
  • Prepare and package parts using proper procedures and materials.
  • Use computer hardware/software to maintain inventory, enter and retrieve data and other computer input requirements.
  • Handle, maintain inventory, shelf-life material and time and temperature sensitive materials as well as chemicals.
  • Lift various heavy items safely and as a team when necessary.
  • Follow military and aerospace regulation requirements.
  • Check, prepare, process and file a variety of paperwork pertaining to tasks.
  • Use assorted measuring and weight recording devices.
  • Assist employees in performing duties.
  • Improve processes and solve problems with the team of coworkers.
  • Keep equipment and surrounding areas neat and clean.
  • Safely operate a forklift and pallet jack as necessary.
  • Perform all related duties as required within the scope of this job function.
