About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Inventory Management and Master Data, the Inventory Analyst acts as a primary interface and focal for inventory needs of clients within TC Energy. The Inventory Analyst supports available, reliable, and sustainable operation of TCE’s assets, and the corresponding need for readily available critical and operating spares. The role supports maintenance and integrity program projects with opportunities to effectively source and manage commonly used and long-lead materials in inventory. The need for readily available critical parts and materials is fundamental to business success and underpins Materials Management’s mission to supply the right parts, in the right place, at the right time. The position offers interaction with a variety of stakeholders across TC Energy and Supply Chain, making the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups critical to success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Inventory Management or SCM experience, preferably in pipeline, midstream, or oil and gas settings
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and inventory‑related modules is required
  • Must possess demonstrated experience with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and the application of related inventory calculation methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to use Microsoft Excel to turn large data sets into actionable insights
  • Possesses broad experience within supply chain functions such as Procurement, Materials Management, and Warehousing

Nice To Haves

  • Supply Chain certification designation or active enrollment preferred (e.g., ASCM CPIM, CSCP, SCMA, SCMP)
  • Experience with advanced inventory management and optimization software such as SAP IBP, IBM MRO/IO, etc.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform tools—including Power BI, SharePoint, Power Automate, and Power Apps—is an added advantage
  • SAP S/4HANA experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the lifecycle management of TCE inventory and project materials, including intake, consumption, replenishment, optimization, obsolescence, and disposition
  • Develop inventory optimization recommendations by applying professional judgment, analyzing usage trends, and leveraging industry best practices to mitigate risk, improve service levels, and reduce carrying costs
  • Manage inventory addition requests through analysis of existing inventory and consumption, identification of superseded or obsolete materials, and requisitioning of new inventory and plants
  • Coordinate the schedule and completion of the annual physical inventory count across TC Energy, ensuring timely audits, accurate SAP postings and reconciliations, variance resolution, and reporting
  • Initiate periodic material technical reviews with business clients to validate potential obsolete inventory findings and coordinate disposition through Investment Recovery
  • Support project clients through material requirement reviews, identifying opportunities to reduce new purchases by leveraging surplus or overstocked inventory
  • Support cross‑functional efforts with Accounting, Tax, Corporate Compliance, Customs, and Logistics to maintain accurate data and regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate with Master Data to support data quality and governance, ensuring accurate and reliable material master data
  • Support the digitization of non‑system materials in SAP to improve inventory visibility and traceability
  • Drive continuous improvement of inventory processes and practices to align with business requirements and maintain up‑to‑date Inventory Management documentation
  • Clearly explains and demonstrates inventory management principles while providing guidance and mentorship to junior Analysts
