About The Position

As an Inventory Analyst at SM Energy, you are required to play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of our warehouse yard operations within a dynamic oil and gas environment. You are required to perform a variety of tasks, including material handling, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and strict adherence to safety protocols, while demonstrating proficiency in forklift and skid steer operation.

Requirements

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • 2+ years of experience in the oil and gas Industry.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in forklift, skid steer, and backhoe operations, including successful completion of required proficiency tests.
  • Physically lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of accountability, reliability, and responsibility, with the ability to take ownership of the yards and warehouse.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks effectively with teammates.
  • Work independently, and be a self-starter, working at times with little supervision.
  • Be available for rotational after-hour and weekend callouts to address urgent operational needs.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Load and unload incoming freight trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proficient operation and maintenance of forklift, skid steer and backhoe equipment.
  • Assist in inventory counts, completing all Material Transfers, receiving all goods shipped to warehouse, coordinating shipping and/or pickup of any goods leaving inventory, and staging/organizing any goods associated with specific projects.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard, including staging materials for upcoming projects and organizing pipe, equipment, vessels, and other materials as required.
  • Interact effectively with contractors and vendors to understand their needs and ensure efficient yard operations.
  • Manage warehouse by organizing materials and parts as required, meticulously documenting material movements, assisting with ordering replacement materials as required, and ensuring seamless workflow and project delivery.
  • Schedule and coordinate metal scrap and garbage bin pickups, as well as telehandler services and fueling, to optimize yard operations.
