About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Process Engineering team in Manufacturing Operations as an Inventory Analyst in West Lafayette, Indiana. This role involves planning, selecting, scheduling, and conducting component part cycle counts, as well as tracking progress towards annual cycle count plans. The position requires performing scrap, purge, and outage investigations, monitoring monthly gap charts, and developing action items. Additionally, the Inventory Analyst will perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory processes, reconcile inventory part discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and analyze BOM transactions, historical data, and inventory reporting to improve inventory accuracy. The role also includes learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ related experience.
  • Experience using ERP systems to manage components, assembly, and finished good level inventories.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Superior organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years' experience as an SEL Inventory Clerk.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of SEL MFG areas and processes.
  • Knowledge of SEL component part inventory.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of SEL manufacturing processes and component part inventory.
  • Intermediate level experience using Dataflo MRP software, and/or Microsoft AX ERP software.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, selecting, scheduling and conducting component part cycle counts.
  • Tracking progress towards annual cycle count plans.
  • Performing scrap, purge, and outage investigations, and associative corrective transactions.
  • Monitoring monthly gap charts in areas of responsibility, as well as developing and performing action items.
  • Performing monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory processes.
  • Reconciling inventory part discrepancies and performing root cause analysis.
  • Analyzing BOM transactions, historical data and inventory reporting to monitor and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
