About The Position

The dual campus Invasive Radiology Supervisor will work at both the Whittier and Downey Campus, generally splitting time between the two. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of invasive radiology technologists, including staff assignments, equipment functionality checks, safety equipment verification, coordination of breaks, and development of work and on-call schedules for both campuses. The Supervisor also assists management with hiring and training new staff, and may assist with procedures to cover staff shortages or breaks. This role involves scrubbing procedures and providing on-call coverage. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for conducting annual performance evaluations, updating procedure manuals and protocols, coordinating staff education and competencies, ensuring daily quality controls and equipment testing, and managing supply ordering and inventory levels. The Supervisor will also participate in departmental quality improvement projects and must be able to self-direct and organize a varied workload.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees technologists' day-to-day operations.
  • Assigns staff to procedures.
  • Ensures all equipment is functional.
  • Ensures all safety equipment is checked and used.
  • Coordinates Technologist lunch and break times.
  • Develops and disseminates work and On Call schedules for both campuses.
  • Assists Manager and Director in hiring and training new staff.
  • Assists with procedures (within scope of practice) to cover staff breaks or sick call shifts.
  • Assists with scrubbing procedures.
  • Provides on call coverage for either Downey or Whittier.
  • Performs Technologist annual performance evaluations.
  • Reviews and updates procedure manuals and protocols.
  • Coordinates with educators and REPs on Technologist staff education.
  • Maintains and ensures all initial and annual competencies are completed.
  • Ensures staff perform daily quality controls and testing of equipment.
  • Orders all necessary supplies or ensures inventory personnel order and maintain appropriate PAR levels.
  • Establishes and enters inventory par levels in WaveMark.
  • Assists and participates in quality improvement projects in the department.
