About The Position

Assists physician in performance of all cardiovascular procedures, demonstrating competency in all positions (scrub, monitor and float). Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care at all acuity levels. Assists in precepting new employees and students to department’s organization and function. Maintains inventory and charges appropriately for procedures, performs all procedures per protocol, participates in quality assurance and performance improvement programs as requests. Equitable participation in call coverage required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists physician in performance of all cardiovascular procedures, demonstrating competency in all positions (scrub, monitor and float).
  • Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care at all acuity levels.
  • Assists in precepting new employees and students to department’s organization and function.
  • Maintains inventory and charges appropriately for procedures, performs all procedures per protocol, participates in quality assurance and performance improvement programs as requests.
  • Equitable participation in call coverage required.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function in all roles (scrub, monitor, and circulate).
  • Function as a qualified team member (QTM) in the administration of moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the physician where applicable.
  • Provides care in compliance with establish policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • This may include administration of medications, contrast, starting IV's. IV fluids under the direction of the physician or nurse as prescribed or indicated by the patient's condition and or physician orders.
