Your job is more than a job The Cardio-Vascular Technologist/Scrub Tech (Invasive) is responsible for assisting the Cardiologist, Radiologist, Vascular Surgeon or other interventional provider, with invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, which utilize advanced radiographic imaging equipment. Responsible for providing patient services and performing interventional procedures, including all aspects of processing. GENERAL DUTIES Registers cardiology patients by confirming patient identification and reviewing consultation requests for invasive cardiovascular procedures. Assists with diagnostic and interventional cases including PTCA, stents, IVUS, angioplasty, cutting balloon, IABP, permanent pacemaker insertion or defibrillator insertion amongst other procedures. Manipulates hemodynamic recording/procedural record equipment. Scrubs as needed per case requirements. Chooses correct order codes for tests performed and completes steps to submit charges. Maintains both automated and hard copy logs and assures that supply and procedure charges are submitted. Maintains equipment, work area and maintains adequate supplies. Maintains good radiation safety and in-services are provided by cardiovascular/X-ray tech as needed. Coordinates work schedule with departmental leader to assure workload coverage. Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the invasive lab department.
