Grand Canyon University’s College of Engineering and Technology is hiring an adjunct faculty member to teach Introduction to Engineering Programming & Lab during the Spring 2027 semester at the Traditional Campus in Phoenix, Arizona. The course runs from January 4, 2027, through April 23, 2027, and is taught in person on campus. Adjunct faculty teach part-time, face-to-face classes in modern facilities with smaller class sizes. The course introduces computer programming fundamentals, including developing algorithms to solve engineering problems and implementing them in C. Students use C programs with embedded devices to interact with the world around them. Topics include assembly language, C programming, and real-time programming. MATLAB is taught as a rapid-development and prototyping tool, including object-oriented programming concepts. Hands-on activities give students experience writing code to implement lecture concepts and using common microcontrollers. The instructor facilitates lectures and discussions, engages students with course objectives and topics, assesses performance, and mentors students’ classroom success. Faculty are expected to support Grand Canyon University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and mission.
