About The Position

The Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) Technologist performs all basic IOM modalities including EMG monitoring of spinal and Neurosurgeries, and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials including posterior tibial nerve stimulation, peroneal stimulation, median nerve stimulation, and ulnar nerve stimulation. This role involves working with the Neurodiagnostic Clinical Manager on day-to-day operations and maintaining a high level of performance across all Neurodiagnostic modalities. The employee provides technical assistance and training to other technologists and students, and performs all the duties of the Neurodiagnostic Technologist. This position requires critical thinking and provides leadership and guidance, coordinating all activities of the Electroneurodiagnostic program. Regular contacts outside the department, but generally within the company, are expected for giving or receiving information, requiring only courtesy to avoid friction.

Requirements

  • Formal working knowledge of Neurophysiology and Neurodiagnostic registration required
  • Registered in Neurodiagnostic modality required
  • Board certification (REEGT, CLTM, or CNIM) required
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required
  • New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
  • Ability to orient and train technologists, and affiliate students required
  • Ability to conducts in-services and provide technical assistance required
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions required
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required
