About The Position

Recreation Services is a comprehensive approach to wellness, fellowship, and life-long fitness, that oversees the fitness center, group exercise, leisure activities, and intramural sports. As a student employee, you will gain the experience of leadership and management while enhancing your critical thinking and communication skills. This role involves representing HPUREC with a positive, enthusiastic attitude while managing players and their surroundings during intramural sports. Students will gain transferable job skills applicable in the real world through their HPUREC employment experiences such as leadership, communication, and persuasive skills.

Requirements

• Prior experience playing specific sports

Nice To Haves

• Previous refereeing experience is preferred
• Minimum 2.3 overall GPA
• Strong Communication skills
• Possess Leadership skills
• Maintain a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Manage situations between opposing teams in a calm manner
• Communicate the rules to all participants
• Unbiasedly evaluate the performance of participants
• Assist in set up and break down of the intramural event
• Create a safe environment for students to enjoy intramural sports
• Other duties as assigned
