About The Position

The Public Schools of Brookline (PSB) is seeking a Cross Country Coach for the Fall Intramural Season. The Cross Country Coach is responsible for planning and implementing all team activities, collaborating with District Intramural Coordinators for meets, communicating with athletes and families, and working with the Building Sports Coordinator to implement rules and regulations. The coach will develop sports-specific skills, model sportsmanship and inclusive behavior, provide a positive atmosphere, and encourage school spirit.

Requirements

• Knowledge of rules and understanding of middle school athletics.
• Concussion awareness training certification.
• All employees must undergo a CORI verification and fingerprinting process prior to the start of their employment.
• Current authorization to work in the United States- must have authorization by first day of employment.

• Relevant coaching experience working with Student Athletes.

Responsibilities

• Planning and implementing all team activities.
• Collaborating with the District Intramural Coordinators to participate in the Cross Country meets.
• Communicating necessary information with all athletes and families.
• Works with the Building Sports Coordinator to implement rules and regulations.
• Develops sports-specific skills and for all players.
• Models sportspersonship, good sports conduct and an inclusive environment.
• Provides a positive atmosphere for all players, coaches and spectators.
• Encourages school spirit.

Benefits

• Hourly Rate per Unit A Contract $41.14/session
• Cross Country Sessions will have a maximum of 12 hours/sessions for the season.
• All employees must be vaccinated and maintain full vaccination as a condition of employment or work as an on-site vendor/contractor, unless they receive approval for a documented medical or religious exemption in accordance with relevant state and/or federal law.
