About The Position

Now Hiring: Interviewing Clerk (Public Assistance) Do you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and keeping things moving in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for an Interviewing Clerk who can provide excellent customer service, collect accurate information, and support the public assistance application process with professionalism and care.   What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll serve as a key point of contact for customers and help ensure applications are processed efficiently and accurately. Typical responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and two (2) years of clerical or public-contact experience.
  • College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training may substitute for experience at the following rates:
  • 30 hours per semester, or 45 hours per quarter, or 710 classroom hours = one year of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working for the Access Program (preferred).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing and screening applicants for public assistance programs to gather required information.
  • Front desk support, providing direct customer service and guiding individuals based on their needs.
  • Reviewing and recording applicant/client information to support eligibility determinations (initial and ongoing).
  • Referring eligible applicants to appropriate public assistance and support programs.
  • Assisting with intake and routine forms, ensuring documents are completed correctly and on time.
  • Scheduling appointments and following established procedures.
  • Preparing reports (regular and special) as needed.
  • Performing general clerical duties as assigned.
