About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to provide English-to-Spanish and Spanish-to-English interpretation and translation services to the Hispanic community. This position is considered essential and must be available to report to work during an emergency or catastrophic event. The incumbent must obtain medical interpreter certification upon hire.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Six months of experience providing formal interpretation and translation services between English and a second language.
Formal interpretation services may include documented work as a volunteer interpreter for a nonprofit, human service or faith-based organization.
Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Nice To Haves

Experience using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Experience demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience managing time effectively to meet deadlines and assigned schedules.
Current certification as a medical interpreter.
